Christmas Travel

Most of the times most of the people like to spend Christmas in their homes with family, but this is not a rule, so I have laso got some interesting information, tips and tricks for those of you who like Christmas Travels. It is quite easy to make a Christmas trip these days. You don’t have to be a sailor and know how to navigate looking at the starry sky to move overseas. You just have a ship sailed for you, or more often - a plane flown to a place you like to spend your Christmas in.

There are some drawbacks of plannig travelling during Christmas. First of all the tickets are always much more expensive that during any other period of the year, because lots of people travel to visit their families. If you are one of them - you probably know about what is to be written in the next couple of sentences. When travelling during Christmas be prepared for the great traffic on the airports, longer passport and luggage controls, and general mess around it. Lots of flights are cancelled or at least delayed, due to the weather conditions (regarding northern hemisphere)…

But only people travel during Christmas to visit their relatives abroad. There is quite a big group of people who for some reasons cannot travel any other time, so they choose to make some journey when the Christmas come and they have some spare time to see place they love to see. One of such places, meaningful enough for a Christmas travel is a Christmas Island. It is a small Australian territory located in the Indian Ocean, 1600 miles (2600 kilometres) northwest of Perth (Western Australia).

It has a natural unique topography and is of great importance to scientists and naturalists because of the number of species of endemic plants and animals it contains, which have evolved in isolation without the influence of human habitation. There has been mining activity on this island for a long time, but now the majority of the island’s ground is made a National Park and there are wide areas of pristine plus ancient rainforest.

Either place is good for Christmas travel, so why don’t join the people visitting Christmas Island next time you plan a winter holidays? If you also like traveling during the spring, you can always visit another island, this time the Easter Island, but on the other hand there is a winter coming there.
